Bernadette Silva, MA, CRC, LRC, completed her Master’s Degree in Counseling from New York University and holds a Certification and License in Rehabilitation Counseling. Employing a cognitive therapy approach, Ms. Silva serves as a Life Coach and as consultant for private and not- for-profit organizations providing outplacement services to displaced employees. With decades of clinical experience treating patients within a variety of settings, Ms. Silva specializes in working with individuals who are struggling to find the right job or manage their illnesses in the workplace, and counseling students who are struggling with the demands of balancing their academic and personal lives.

Actively engaged in the field, she has conducted numerous career seminars on resume writing, interviewing skills, career planning and innovative techniques for job hunting. Ms. Silva is bilingual in Spanish and provides support to Hispanic immigrant populations as part of her comprehensive practice.

Her approach is cognitive therapy based where clients learn ways to effectively manage the challenges faced daily.

 

Currently, Ms. Silva  has been involved in a substantial amount of forensic evaluations and Life Care Plans. Plaintiff and defense attorney clients were awarded millions in verdicts and settlements. She has experience with traumatic brain injuries, cerebral palsy, spectrum disorders, multiple sclerosis, infectious diseases, cardiac, strokes, and has worked in various major Institutions such as Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation and Weill Cornell Medical in a supervisory role.

Bernadette has testified in thousands of social security hearing disability hearings.

We will answer your questions in a timely manner and help your organization meet deadlines. SVC will provide expert services in the court room with a specialty in Life Care planning which provides current and future medical care cost and loss of earnings  through life expectancy in light of injuries. In order to determine one’s employability after an injury SVC will provide vocational evaluations at times with added assessments and create a unique report of findings with an analysis and recommendations.
